Wildflower Turf appears all over Hampton Court!

We have been busy supplying our Wildflower Turf to various designers and landscapers for Hampton Court over the last few weeks. Here are a few of the show gardens which incorporated our turf…
Tony Richards from Graduate Landscapes visited us so that he could plan for Hampton Court. He came to choose some Wildflower Turf back in June and decided on 9m² of some very lovely flowering turf.

The finished garden

Of course when the turf is mature you can’t roll it without risking damaging the stems, so Tony arranged for two of his vehicles to come to the farm to collect it.
I am sure that they had some funny looks driving along the roads!! Hopefully it made people smile and brightened up their day to see something so pretty zoom past them on the UK roads.

Chris Beardshaw designer and broadcaster, worked with groups around the country to recreate real projects turning unlikely pockets of land into food gardens, play areas and community orchards. Once the show was over the gardens are to be relocated where they are needed – to help provide communities with urban green spaces.  These include areas of London, Birmingham, Ellesmere Port and Merthyr Tydfil.
Urban Oasis, created by environmental charities the RHS and Groundwork, and sponsored by Marks & Spencer, guides visitors through eight very different urban green spaces.

It was quite a logistical task to deliver 326m² of mature Wildflower Turf flat to the show for some of the Urban Oasis gardens! But we were up to the challenge.
Below are some images showing the turf being loaded flat on special trollies so that the flowers would not get damaged during transit!

Anoushka Feiler from Bestique had great success at Hampton Court this year with her ‘Bridge over troubled water’ show garden. It was voted the 2012 RHS People’s Choice Show Garden winner. The garden also picked up a gold medal for Best Show Garden.

Final design for the show garden

The garden was inspired by the relief that patients feel when they have received treatment for their problem, specifically, bladder problems. The bridge is a metaphor for treating the problem. For more information on the show garden please click this link Bridge over troubled water.
