We were thrilled to hear that Eastleigh Borough Council’s Grantham Green project has recently been awarded ‘Highly Commended’ in the Green Space category of the highly competitive 2019 National Street Design awards.
These awards recognise the very best in innovation and best practice in street design schemes across the UK, and the awards are open to projects completed by, or on behalf of, local authorities.
It’s now almost two years since Wildflower Turf Ltd Accredited Partner Eastleigh Borough Council reinvigorated the Grantham Green site, a popular green space in a residential area of Eastleigh Town Centre.
The Council installed 1100m² of Landscape 34 Wildflower Turf in May 2017, and the result has been lovely….and clearly worthy of attention from the judges of this year’s National Street Design awards!
As well as new facilities and landscaping, the wildflower meadow has proven to be a particularly popular feature, with the wildflowers also perfectly complementing the stumpery that was installed this year as the latest part of the Grantham Green facelift.
