RHS Wisley – Training in Wildflowers and Naturalistic Planting

We want to let you know of a lovely opportunity to learn more about the use of wildflowers and naturalistic plantings in gardens and green spaces. On June 23rd RHS Wisley are holding a Professional Development Day specifically created for head gardeners, garden designers, those in local authorities and parks and grounds maintenance.
It is a full day of training and will provide you with a fascinating insight from both a stylistic and practical viewpoint. The day is packed with talks from highly regarded experts from the landscape world and include a keynote address from Matthew Wilson, who is the Managing Director and Principle Designer of Clifton Nurseries.

James Hewetson-Brown, MD of Wildflower Turf will also be talking on the practical issues of wildflower establishment. We know for many, establishment is the one issue that puts designers and landscapers off including wildflowers in schemes but we hope James will be able to dispel the myths and provide ideas for workable solutions to meadow creation. There is also a really interesting case study from a Local Authority perspective looking at floral meadows in the public eye from Bristol City Council.
As well as tours of Wisley wildflowers, the afternoon will provide interesting sharing sessions from the four RHS Gardens.
The full programme can be found on the RHS Blog ‘Learning to Design the Wild at RHS Wisley’
The cost of the day is £70 and includes lunch and refreshments throughout the day. To book your place call 020 3176 5830 and use the reference 12260.
